To all Teachers, Often teachers forgot in a schooling culture, being sensitive and mindful goes a long way. Hurting words and remarks, insinuation, assumption, stereotyping and discrimination might go unnoticed or brushed off by family members of students/pupils of the past causing these students of the past to grow up with hatred and bad memories. Our environment and life history shaped and moulded our behaviour and character. Often teachers forgot that students/pupils today are different from their comrades of the past. Students/pupils today are being thought how to handle situations; how to cope with discriminating remarks, stereotyping and most important how to recognize prejudicial and how to distinguish treatment of an individual based on their actual or perceived membership in a certain group or category. This knowledge will automatically alert them to stand up and voicing out when they encountered irregularities. Roslinah R.
