To all my friends who are suffering, There once was a saying - TopicsExpress

To all my friends who are suffering, There once was a saying going round popular Christian circles; Everybody wants to go to Heaven, but no body wants to die to get there. It is kind of the same thing with suffering; everybody wants to be a Christian, but nobody wants to suffer. I read a book by a Catholic Nun called Hinds Feet In High Places. It was an allegory about a little girl named Little Miss Muchafraid. It seems as the Good Shepard had come by moving His sheep to the Higher Pastures. But Little Miss Muchafraid was too afraid to go. Later after the Good Shepard had long gone, she up on reflection she decided she wanted to go after all. But it was too late the Shepard was gone and she did not know the way to the Higher Pastures. But the Good Shepard knowing she did not know the way sent two angels to show her the way. Their names were Suffering and Sorrow. But she did not want to go with Suffering and Sorrow, (and here come the rub) but Suffering and Sorrow were the only ones who knew how to get to the Higher Pastures. I hate suffering and sorrow as I know you do, for both myself and others. Especially while in the midst of it. But the last time I (like all the rest of you), ask Creator Father God; What did I do to deserve this ? That still, sweet, soft, voice simple ask; Where shall we start ? The Spirit sent me a message to pass to you in love. Moreover --- let us be full of joy now! Let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character --- that is, approved faith and tried integrity. And character of this sort, produces the habit of joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation. Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, fir Gods love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us. ROMANS 5 : 3 - 5
