To everyone who is interested in helping out the Quidditch team and getting some free pizza, here is the information for volunteering. Help out our Loyola Community! :) Wolf Pack Classic Quidditch Tournament Volunteer Packet Where: La Salle Park (6600 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA, 70003) When: Saturday, October 25th, from 7am until ~8pm What: A quidditch tournament hosted by Loyola University- New Orleans, featuring 16 teams from 4 different states. Volunteer shifts ● There will be two shifts; one from 7am to about 1pm that will include set-up for the tournament, and then the second shift will be from about 1pm until the tournament ends(est. 7pm) and will include tear down. Volunteer Responsibilities (In order of likelihood we’ll need someone to do it) ● Managing a Field- Some volunteers will be field managers, and will be responsible for making sure games are starting on time. This is mostly just telling teams and game officials that their game is about to start and they need to be on the field. ● Score runner- These volunteers are responsible for taking score sheets from each of the four fields and taking them back to the headquarters tent ● Merchandise table- Teams(including Loyola) will be selling various gear and apparel. There is a chance we’ll need someone to run the Loyola table for a bit. ● Running HQ- This is more for when the Tournament Director(Tad Walters) is playing, but someone will always need to be present at Headquarters in case anyone has any questions about anything at the tournament. ● Social Media- We plan to be live-tweeting results from the tournament, as well as updating a spreadsheet, a volunteer may find themselves appointed to this task for a little bit. ● Scorekeeping- In dire need, we may assign some volunteers to scorekeep for a game, which is literally just tallying up the points each team scores during a game. Details ● A minimum of 5 volunteers per shift is recommended, and should be a combined force of Loyola quidditch and LUCAP volunteers. ● ALL volunteers will get free pizza at the lunch break(scheduled for 12-1, time subject to change) ● Rides to and from the fields can be arranged, but will be easiest for the morning shift volunteers. ● Overall, volunteering won’t be tiring, at all. Everyone should have a significant amount of down time to enjoy games, grab something to eat from the food available on site, etc. If you have any questions, please email tad.walters1@gmail, message him on Facebook, or call/text at 832-683-1735.
