To kill or . . . . ? ? ? Me and my wife Mira love the nature and choose to live in a very natural environment and we have been fortunate establish our home and work studio in a 3-acre ranch located in Shadow Hills, Ca. for the past 14+years we have been sharing this small oasis with our pets (chicken, Armenian pigeons, domestic quails, koi fish etc...) So I perfectly understand the importance of balanced ecosystem, I highly respect nature and all leaving creatures, we have daily visitors of coyotes, Bobcats, Deer, Rabbits, quails, many none poisonous snakes, lizards and other numerous creatures that we share our living environment with, in an attempt not to kill the dangerous ones, on many occasions I even took the risk of catching highly poisonous snakes, scorpions, tarantulas and other dangerous to human creatures and relocated them far from our close environment, in doing so I have been bitten by a rattlesnake once, (3-days in hospital and chance of my left arm amputation !) another time our beloved dog companion Lexus also has been bitten ( 3-hospital days and a lot of $$$$). However, for the last 6 years or so every summer we find poisonous rattlesnakes in very close proximity to our home, work studio or where our pets live and play, so I decided not to take risks anymore and ... terminate their life with a BB-air gun... however I am not too happy with my decision, I am looking for another alternative to this problem, I would highly appreciate if any of my FB friends have an alternate idea ? What would you do? I will wait for your suggestions and address them promptly.
