To lift the spirits................... Whatever today may bring, my day has certainly been made. And to the two folks who assisted so greatly with this, may yours be as well. The same goes for each person on this Page who has helped another, via PIF, or out of their own. Last year, in the latter part, a Couple were helped through a short-term tough time. We (you) helped after assessing the situation, and that was that. Today, I received this (excerpt from message being placed here). And to say thank you for helping us to get through a very difficult, unexpectedly so time in our lives. Today I wanted to share with you that ***** and I have been married for Fifty years. That is a lifetime. We have known each other for Fifty Five years. Our Children, all with Families of their own, all living outside of the country. When our hard time arrived, we didnt tell them. We kept it to ourselves, with them believing everything was hunky dory, while the reality was a far cry. Our life was not always an easy one, though our family did not go without eating, not once. Our Children always had to take to school, and sometimes took extra for others. Still we faced hard times, but never did we consider a break in the family. We had our ways of dealing with issues which arose, whether they were small or big. Today, right now, as I sit here with ***** in our little home, he reading, me typing, and us going for lunch later, I marvel at the fact that we have such deep seated respect for one another, such intense love, even after so many years together. I fear the day that one of us goes, for it will be taking the largest, most important part of the other away at the same time. I worry for the Children of today, where hiccups too quickly lead to divorce. We have always believed, and practiced this - if it can be fixed dont simply discard it. And this, Greg, is what has kept us together. Today, all those seemingly huge frustrations and aggravations are not even recalled. Except now as I type this. They were insignificant then, two stubborn people unprepared to give in. I can laugh at those times now. Then I wanted to throttle ***** until he would see it my way. I am sure he many times felt the same toward me. You know the circumstances which led to our struggle in 2013. They are over now, and still our Children dont know. They have no need to. Really I just wanted to express our deep gratitude to you and your organisation, for taking the time to care about two silly old folks, or rather two folks who believed in something silly and lost much as a result. No judgement from your side. A calm approach, a listening ear, and an embarrassed, proud couple. Thank you for that. May your days be filled with wonderful things. May you remember, as we will, how very much your kindness meant then, and does now. Wow! Happy Anniversary to you both, and may your health continue so that you have a good few more years together. You have inspired me today, greatly.
