To most of us, this is rather stating the obvious. Some still try to peddle the promote Democracy nonsense, though weve really not tried to do that anywhere, and almost every country weve touched, we failed miserably in doing so. Yes it is about the oil. Worse, oil companies have, well, saying deep pockets would be classic British understatement. Cavernous, maybe, yea lets go with that--the kind of deep, like when you see movies and someone drops something into a giant hollow, and listen to get some idea of how deep, yet they never actually hear it land?--yea, that deep. And all of that money, well a pitifully small portion of it, is used to buy our government, which keeps them in power. This keeps us from going to rehab as a country, promoting solar and wind, building grid ties, and an infrastructure to carry the new, free power from the sun. It keeps us from government subsidies proper, to get us into new, electric cars. And the cost of wars, well theyre never added to the overall cost of using oil, when comparisons are made with other energy sources. Hell, theyre already cheaper.
