To my great San Diego friends and political junkies: THE BIG RESULTS: I used the Registrars not-yet-official, but final numbers: Faulconer: 43.58; Alvarez: 25.59; Fletcher: 24.30; and Aguirre: 4.44. I then found the total difference in these four choices between your projections and the total reported vote figures. I must say my friends are wonderful observers of politics and could all be talking faces on any news station [except FOX]. #5: Doug Porter with 5.03 total difference. #4: Scott Zimmerman: 4.25. #3: Mitchell Sterling: 3.87 [Well done !] #2. Chuck Apostolas: 3.85 [Very well done -- .02 difference between # 2 and #3 !!]. DRUM ROLL PLEASE..... #1. With a total difference of 3.83----- ME, Mike Roberts . Me bad and feeling very guilty ! And very lucky ! PLEASE feel free to double check my math. I did the top four 3 times to try to avoid any errors. My win was by only .02 over Mr. Apostolas and .04 over Mr. Sterling. All entries are still in the original mail from me to the Board--so the record is there to be confirmed by anyone. But I am a banker, so awful with numbers. Let me know if I screwed up. I am thinking I should treat #2 and #3 to the dinner ? Is that fair ? Also a special award to participant and great family friend David Lundin. He screwed up under-estimating Faulconer by 4.58, but his other 3 projections were off by only .59; .8 and .44. All less than one digit ! If he did not dislike Faulconer so much, he might have won. Thanks to all who took the time to have some fun. Now lets all help Mr. Alvarez become our next MAYOR !!!
