To, the Song Writer, with Love. No More Excuses: Yesterday when I received the news of the passing of pastor Andrae Crouch, I couldnt help but shed a tear. Not because we lost him (no child of Gods death is ever a loss, Philippians 1:21), but because we will miss his kind on this side of eternity. Andrae Crouch has been a generational blessing to the church and the world, consistently for over fifty years. On receiving the news, like a wave his legendary songs that formed our taste for gospel music started flooding with grace thru my heart; songs like: Jesus is the answer, Through it all, I dont know why, To God be the glory, Mercy, Soon and very soon, Take me back, The blood, etc. I also couldnt help but think on the satanic odds against him, that could have stopped him from fulfilling purpose: odds like dyslexia, racial discrimination and intimidation, diabetes, cancer, etc. Yet he fought the good fight and triumphed, against all odds, until he breathed his last... His songs blessed us beyond repairs. Now, Im thinking, what if he never paid the price to write those songs? And what if he never taught the songs or even sang them, for fear of either rejection or selfishness? What if he had allowed an intimidating label to dilute his songs? NOW TO THE CRUX... My concern is for you the present day song writer; yes you who have been endowed and called to write the Lords song, for His vineyard. But for one reason or the other you have hidden those songs, waiting for the Perfect platform, when Kennis, Sony or even Don Jazzy will discover you; or possibly when Project Fame or any of those reality shows will send for you and amplify you? Wake up my friend, YOU ARE BIGGER THAN THAT! What these guys actually offer is a crumb for a great destiny- a pot of red porridge for your birthright. They change your direction, steal your originality, confuse your identity, unpackage your personality and dilute your message. Setting you on a roller coaster to perdition on that way that seems right but ends in death. (Please forgive my laid backness I admit that am so local and unrefined. But öne thing you cant take from me is that I have eyes that see the end and warn in advance). I say again, YOU PASS THEM!. I ask, what other audience is bigger than the Most High? And what other stage is lifted above mount zion? My friend, get to work now. Teach those songs. Release those prophecies. Mentor those minstrels. Those songs are not for you, so why hoard them? The glory isnt for you either why sing only for fame, glitz and glamor? Lucifer still seeks worship but the Lord has rebuked him... See, the end of all things is at hand and God is counting on you for a Repair, Restoration and Revolution. As for your needs, Hell supply. So, get to work... GRACE IS SUFFICIENT. God will level the mountains as you step by faith! No more excuses! But if you misunderstood me, I honestly have no bias nor further explanations, I only delivered a message bigger than me, Hehehehe! Youll finish strong in Jesus Name.
