To the We love Camden family, I want to take this time to thank you from the bottom of my heart, for all your love, support, and dedication, concerning this past weeks election. Needless to say, after the results came in on Tuesday night, we were very disappointed. We fought a good fight, we ran the race well, and we were strong to the end. That disappointment soon turn to drive and now we are ready to fight harder, run faster, and be stronger than ever. Many of you are asking, now what? The answer is no different than what we have always been doing, we will continue to Rebuild the city of Camden, one family at a time That is our mission, and it will remain our mission, with or without a title. In the Book of Nehemiah, he wasnt necessarily in position, he wasnt the king yet. The Lord stirred his heart with so much strategy and passion, he was able to change the course of a generation... Build the ruins of a city where its people were desolate, and restore hope to a land once forgotten. Nehemiah did that without a title. When I drove through the streets of Camden on election day, I saw something that Ive never experienced before in the city. We saw people sitting and standing on their porches, cheering for us as we drove down the street. At the polling stations, we witnessed dozens of people from all different sides, holding up banners, passing out flyers, and being proud of the party that they represent. Even though technically on paper we lost, I was so proud to hear from so many of our leaders throughout Camden say that we ignited a fire in the entire city that has not been there for decades. I say that we Woke Up The Sleeping Giant So I now declare to the city of Camden, ARISE and be the city you were purposed to be. You are the city invincible, you are the Castle on a hill. The father in you will protect and serve, the mother in you will birth geniuses throughout the world. Creative ideas and witty inventions shall spring forth from the residents of Camden and we declare an entrepreneurial spirit upon the land. There were seeds of invention that were planted with the likes of RCA, seeds of manufacturing with the likes of the New York shipyard, and seeds of prosperity with the likes of Campbell Soup. Now is the time for Camden to reap the harvest for all those seeds that were sown over 50 years ago. In reference to updates, we are continuing to work with the senior homes in Camden to get them transportation on a weekly basis. Acts Industries conducted two orientation sessions today with job applicants and they are expected to appear before the planning and zoning boards of the city within the next 30 to 60 days. We will start hosting special community events at the Haddon Farmers Market on Mt. Ephraim Avenue, and we are negotiating with two other companies that are looking at coming into Camden and hiring Camden first. So again I want to thank you so much for your dedication, because without it, none of this would be possible. We started our campaign in the beginning of this year with a quote from Henry Ford; Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success Lets continue to work together for a great success. Be on the lookout for our upcoming correspondence concerning our next steps in regards to this past weeks election. We are not taking this lying down. The battle has just begun. Sincerely, Amir Khan
