Today, 13 years ago started as a normal day with my mom dropping me off at school. Maybe 30 minutes later she walked back into my school and pulled me outside. I will never forget the look on her face. She said the towers had been hit by planes and she didnt know where my dad or my step mother were. I was so terrified. She took me home and we turned on the tv. I remember seeing the buildings fall and it was the worst feeling. I had just been in NYC that summer, in those buildings. I left messages for my dad, and finally called my grandparents. They had been able to get in touch with him, and he was traveling out of the country but my step mother was still in Manhattan. I will never forget that day as long as I live, and I pray we never have to see something like that on US soil again. I saw faces flashing across the TV screen for days.... The elevator operator, the server at the restaurant, others that I may have met but didnt remember.
