Today I am tasked with writing a difficult post. It is not difficult due to lack of content, but rather that I pride myself in saying the most in the least amount of words. Today Sara Jo Hoban and I celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Arguably the greatest single day in our life to date. We would often joke that if we had a ground hog day to re live it would be that day. You see life is a series of moments. Most moments become repetitive and mundane, but every now and then you experience one that takes your breath away. It is those moments we remember. The ones that make great stories. Some of these moments are happy, some are sad, but they always go by too fast. Our wedding day was filled with these little moments... -Almost blowing my knee out as I danced in the street while posting the Hoban Wedding this Way sign on Taylorville Road trying to get a laugh out of Nick Eichner. -The Delahunty Brothers escorting our more seasoned family members in golf carts at accelerated speeds. -Roger Ryan pouring a round of shots every time someone new walked in before the wedding started (yes we tailgated). -Standing at the alter listing to Pearl Jams Untitled because Adam Miller and I walked entirely to fast (while Ryan Cox rocked out with approval to the song selection). -Brandon Havener giving a look of accomplishment after nervously reading his portion. -The largest smile I have ever seen on Michelle Ryans face as our little Savanna walked down the isle in her fairy dress. -Sara Jos gaze as she walked towards me in her perfect dress holding on her dad Mike Buckley while Dave Matthews Where are You Going -playing (she has very powerful eye). -My little brother Keith standing as tall as possible in every picture with me. Always with his chin up. -Arron Buckleys firm handshake of approval and a reminder that I am now his family. -Stopping at LSB for a round of shots on the way to the reception, because we are #DecaturMade after all. -Being greeted by my Carlos Crew upon entering the KC Hall. -Sara smashing cake in my face after we agreed to play nice. -Dodging every opportunity for shot with the excuse Ill be right there after I go to the bathroom. -Jeremy Evans repeatedly slapping my ass embarrassing family members. -Adam Miller taking his shirt off and I am still not sure why. -Dean and Meghan Gregurich and a variety of the Barn Crew surrounding Sara and I dance while singing Underneath it All by Shikira could be the moment of the day. I am sure I have missed moments from that day. If you where there feel free to share your favorites. Despite the desire to want to go back to this day and see the smiles of all of those we have lost over the years I know that Sara and I have lifes best moments ahead of us. At some point today raise a toast to little moments in life and hopefully Sara and I are apart of them. With Love, The Hobans
