Today I decided to put the kids on Romeos back. I put the bareback pad and halter on him and he led me into the arena. I made a deal with him, he eats and lets the kids sit on him and I wont ask him to walk around. Maddy went first and all was fine. Mika went second and again all was fine. Then Bug went....hell broke loose! For the first 5 min he was fine, then he started to paw the ground. I knew he was going to roll, so I swept Bug off his back, unhooked his lead line and he rolled. Then I went back up to him and started sweeping the bareback pad off before I hooked the lead line... bad idea. He dropped his nose and started bucking like a bronco! I yelled for Bug to get out of the arena and she ran to the fence and looked back and stopped BEFORE she crawled out. Mean while Romeo is pretending he is a rodeo star. When he started to buck in her direction, she shot out of the arena. Then he started bucking toward me! I shot out of the arena as well but after I shouted ROMEO in my youre bad and Im not pleased voice. The voice got to him and by the time I was at the fence, he was hot on my heels not bucking but acting like he didnt do a thing! Damn horse....
