Today I joined a student field trip to the Samoa Cultural Village - TopicsExpress

Today I joined a student field trip to the Samoa Cultural Village located behind the Samoa Tourism Bureau organized by the Center for Samoan Studies under the theme of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. At first some of us in the NUS crew were apprehensive about how the cultural center was going to be like. The cultural demonstrations were led by Samoan guides with a pea who used Samoan humor throughout the demonstration which was enjoyed by both the tourists and the NUS crew. There are several fales each dedicated to various customary arts demonstrations ranging from carving, tattooing, siapo making, culinary arts, weaving and healing arts. Each tour limits to 30 people at a time. When the NUS crew got back into the van to drive back to the university, we were all agreed that the guides needed to come up with new jokes!
