Today I missed the funeral for a person I became friendly with six years ago when she was the broker that helped me buy my house. We werent super close but she was local and weve stayed in touch and bonded over fun things (for us) like home design projects and our love of dogs. I had no idea that shes spent the last five years battling cancer. No idea. As it turns out, she kept this generally private, as a large set of her friends, colleagues, and acquaintances were shocked and saddened by this news, like me. She was a lovely woman and Im sure she was very brave. Rest in peace Gale A. Steigelmann.
