Today I want to talk about the destination. I normally always talk about our journey and the path that we are on, but when you come to that destination and one journey is over, there is such beauty in it, that it can be overwhelming. Not many people know that our oldest daughter Makayla is not biologically Andrews. One, because she looks so much like him with her beautiful skin color and blue eyes but two because Andrew and I have never treated her differently and Andrew has always thought of her as his flesh and blood. I met Andrew when Makayla was 6 months old, and we became best friends, he even watched Makayla for me one time when I went on date!! Hehehe... He was the only guy I truly introduced her to and the only one I trusted with her. When she was 2 years old we started dating and when she turned 3 we got married. Andrew has always been Makaylas daddy and she truly doesnt know any differently. However last Friday Makayla was given an amazing gift by her biological father, he allowed Andrew to legally adopt her! It takes a lot to put a childs needs before your own and for that I will be eternally gratefully. So the journey of becoming Makayla Lynn Skelton ended on Friday September 19 and the path of being Andrews legal daughter began! The day was emotional, filled with tears of joy and celebration. Both my parents and Andrews were there to witness this glorious event and when the judge declared her Makayla Lynn Skelton, Makayla clung to Andrew and wept tears of joy. It was such a beautiful moment that honestly it ranks up in my top 5. This has been one amazing year for our family, filled with so many blessings and miracles that I am truly overwhelmed! So even through hardship, getting through the journey might be a battle but its the glory after that is well worth the war wounds!! To my amazing husband, I couldnt have prayed for a better daddy for our girls! Thank you for loving all our girls and loving me and Makayla when we were a buy one get one free!!
