Today I was lucky enough to meet Andrew. He is 15 years old and has a disability that leaves him unable to talk and limits his movement to less. As he rode on my attraction I got to speak to his dad who adopted him when he was 1 day old. Andrew didnt want leave his room for the first six years of his life until he fell in love with Disney. Now, every Sunday, Andrew and his dad enjoy going to disneyland together. His dad said while Andrew has a disability it doesnt limit him for loving others and that he is lucky to have Andrew in his life, not the other way around. I would have to say I consider myself lucky to have met them both. Everyday Im reminded why my job here isnt meaningless. Why its not just a job but a blessing. Why it matters. I get to help create these memories and the magic for everyone to experience. I get to meet amazing people like Andrew and his dad. I get to see how Disney not only changed my life, but it helped someone else find theirs. I have to say, Im one of the luckiest girls in the world. I cant wait to hopefully see Andrew and his dad next Sunday and for many Sundays to come!
