Today I was privileged to hold in my hands the beautiful, wizened - TopicsExpress

Today I was privileged to hold in my hands the beautiful, wizened face of a dear friend and companion as she passed from this world. She faithfully raised three kids and babysat many puppies, teaching them patience, faithfulness and manners. (Yes, both puppies AND kids!) For 16 years she graced us with laughter, companionship and HAIR! HAIR everywhere! She took some knocks over the years- a broken leg, a chipped tooth, a missing toe.... but she was always her same sweet, beautiful, kind, patient self. So smart she was dumb. We called her Sneaky Meeky. She could crawl into bed with you so slowly that shed never move the covers or wiggle the bed. She once ate the entire and ONLY stick of butter right off the Thanksgiving dinner table, right before we were all to sit down and eat. She made friends easily and everywhere; human, canine, feline or equine but her favorite of all were kids. If I could go back and do today over again, Id have found her some kids to love on her just a bit. I didnt plan this, but I knew it was coming. Sunday morning my friend asked me to let her go run and tussle with Diamond. How could I tell her no? No one deserves a dog like her in their lifetime. Im just grateful that I had her in mine. Run free, eat cat crap, roll in horse shit, and when its time to sleep, may your blankets be soft and your bed buddy lie still. I love you, Miko. Thanks for being such a great dog!
