Today I will long to spend time with Jesus... The Psalmist - TopicsExpress

Today I will long to spend time with Jesus... The Psalmist gives us a picture of His desire to dwell in the house, the presence of The Lord. We have the promise, as believers, that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. But we all struggle from time to time being cognizant of His presence in our lives and daily routine. We must discipline our minds, hearts, and emotions; in order to be aware of His presence. In so doing we long for and are able to spend the day in his presence, his court as it were. This discipline begins as we carve out some time, each day, in his word, in prayer, and in devotions, How lovely are Your dwelling places, O Lord of hosts! My soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the Lord; My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God. How blessed are those who dwell in Your house! They are ever praising You. Selah. For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. (Psalms 84:1, 2, 4, 10 NASB) What a beautiful home, God -of-the-Angel-Armies! I’ve always longed to live in a place like this, Always dreamed of a room in your house, where I could sing for joy to God-alive! One day spent in your house, this beautiful place of worship, beats thousands spent on Greek island beaches. I’d rather scrub floors in the house of my God than be honored as a guest in the palace of sin. All sunshine and sovereign is God, generous in gifts and glory. He doesn’t scrimp with his traveling companions. It’s smooth sailing all the way with God -of-the-Angel-Armies. (Psalm 84:1, 2, 10-12 MSG) Today, I will long to spend time with Jesus...
