In 2006, CNN and National Public Radio both said they would not air advertising for a controversial film that featured the fictional assassination of President George W. Bush. A spokesperson for CNN said the channel made the decision not to accept ads for Death of a President, quote, because of the extreme nature of the movies subject matter. CNN said it would cover the movie on the editorial side. In 2007, a lock of hair from Latin American revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara was sold at an auction in Dallas, Texas for just over 100-thousand dollars. Bookstore owner Bill Butler bought the lock of hair. The sellers agent said the hair was put up for sale by a former CIA operative and Cuban exile involved in Guevaras capture. Che Guevara was a Marxist expert in guerilla warfare who was part of the Cuban revolution, but was executed by the army of Bolivia in 1967. In 2009, the New York Yankees defeated the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 5-2 in Game Six of the American League Championship Series at Yankee Stadium to advance to the World Series. In 2013, Emmy winning actress Marcia Wallace died on this date at the age of 70. Wallace provided the voice of teacher Edna Krabappel on the Fox animated sitcom The Simpsons. She also played secretary Carol Kester on The Bob Newhart Show.
