Today Mackenzie and Makayla are three months old! Of the last three months this last week has been one of the most difficult. Mackenzie has been very sick and uncomfortable and its been an ongoing battle to try to maintain her until surgery. She did improve over the last 24 hours, leaving the doctors encouraged that they will be able to keep her comfortable until surgery a week from today. The reasons for waiting on surgery originally were to let her gain weight and allow her hypertension to improve. She has since lost weight and an echo yesterday showed worsened hypertension. It is so hard to watch her struggle on a day to day basis but when these days are so crucial for her knowing shes headed to a major surgery makes it that much harder for us. Mackenzie seems to be more like herself today and even tolerated my monthly photos :) Praying that she will continue to get back to herself and use the next 6 days to rest and prepare for this grueling surgery.
