Today Mary Jo had her permanent catheter drain put in. Got to the hospital at 12:15 for a 2:30 procedure. At 3 they told us the Dr. is running hour(s) behind. Yes, that is plural. At 4:15 they take her in and tell me it will be a 30 min procedure. At 5:50 I am becoming extremely irritated as the surgeon walked past me 4 times and never said a word on her status. Apparently I caught the attention of a very helpful X-ray tech who listened to my rant and went to find some answers. He returned very quickly with a nurse who apologized up one side and down the other for NOBODY telling me she was done and had been back in the room for over an hour. Irritation has now escalated to pure anger. Mary Jo was asking for me and nobody had the brains to even come find me IN THE WAITING ROOM or call my phone. Thankfully after more discharge drama and more miscommunication from the surgeon we finally get our walking papers and have made it home. She is now sleeping and feels so much better after having this latest procedure done. Thanks for the calls and prayers and messages. We read them to her and she just smiles and tells us how blessed she is. Yes Mom you have lots of love coming from all around. We love you all! Matt & Stefanie.
