Today, a little boy in my class had a meltdown. Melt downs were normal for this child during hard transitions. However, this melt down was not caused by a transition, nor another child. This melt down was due to a broken heart. As I stood there and helped other children with potty breaks and sunblock, here laid this child who sobbed and sobbed on the ground. I finally got him to turn over and talk to me. And all he could say was I miss my daddy. I want my daddy.. As I held back tears, I offered him his daddy doll, which made him angry and shout no I want my daddy here and cry even more. He eventually crawled over to me, laying his head on my leg and gave me a happy hug. But during all this, all I could think about was how hard it is for a military child, like him to have his daddy gone for X amount of months, only god knows where. It honestly breaks my heart. #bringdaddyhome
