Today at work, I was on my way back to the store from a delivery. Im at a red light on a busy intersection (San Pedro Ave and Jackson Keller). Theres a homeless man in the middle of the intersection mad dogging the world, giving the finger to all the cars at the light. I get the green light and he comes up to me, stands right in front of my car and proceeds to give me the finger. He walks around to my window and puts it right in my face. I cup my hand in a C-shape and say back to you buddy and drive off. I get to the store and minutes later the same guy shows up pulls on the door to get in but the Mag-lock was activated. So he stands there and begins to give me and another driver the finger. I say to him what wrong with you, get outta here, you want us to call the cops? He leaves. On my next delivery I tell the manager that if i see him outside I will offer him some food and talk to him. I find him outside in a bush on the side of the bldg. I get out and say, hey, you want some food? How did you know? he asks. because i see you guys out here all the time. I used to be homeless like you at one time. (not for very long). Why are you out here acting crazy scaring people? Someones gonna call the cops on you, then what? We go to shake hands grabbing each other by the wrists. Im sorry, he says. Its ok now be careful alright i say, I start to leave and he wont let go of me. I cant, he says cuz the devil is out here working all the time. Its ok I say cuz we are out here working all the time to. I try to leave again and he still wont let go. I look at him and he says, I cant let go want to know why? I say, Why? Cuz God loves you. Youre going to have to break my wrist if you want to go. (to be continued)
