Today, for Jessicas 1980s music education, we have not one, but two songs by Softcell. (Dont assume you know this version without listening to it because its not JUST Tainted Love which still gets all sorts of air play.) The 70s and early 80s saw a couple of song pairings that were played together on better radio stations. In 1972 we had Pure Prairie Leagues Falling In and Out of Love/Aimee pairing. In 1978 we had Journeys Feeling That Way/Anytime set. And in 1981, Softcell merged Gloria Jones song Tainted Love with the Supremes Where Did Our Love Go? This is by far the weirdest of the three, with the middle instrumental section apparently being recorded at a malfunctioning power station. (But its still kind of cool, which is why it is here) Dont touch me please, I cannot stand the way you teaaaaaase.
