Today, four Jews were murdered while praying at a Jerusalem synagogue. So too was an Israeli Druze (Muslim) police officer who rushed to their defense. I couldnt be more proud of Israels extraordinary Druze community - equal, brave, and proud Israelis with whom the Jewish community mourns today. Remarkable words from Sheikh Muafik Tarif, the spiritual leader of Israels Druze community: The Druze all pray for peace and we pray for recovery of all the injured, and send strength to their families. We are proud of our sons who act fearlessly in the face of terrorist attacks. This is a black day for Israeli society and the State of Israel, when its citizens are murdered just for being Jewish. “The Druze community condemns with revulsion the act of terrorism in which a Palestinian terrorist massacred and slaughtered innocent civilians. Such a situation, in which the country’s citizens are murdered on a daily basis, cannot continue.
