Today has been a very beautiful fall day. The leaves are changing colors, the air is crisp, I took the rest of my vegetables from the garden, mowed my lawn and I had a visit from a very special young man who stops to see me on this date every year and has for the past 11 years. There have been calls, texts and Facebook messages remembering this date as they have every year for the past 11 yrs. I feel so thankful for the people who never forget to let me know that they have not forgotten the significance of today. I miss Travis, wish he could have met his nephews, wish he was here for his sisters, wish we had him back and wonder what he would be like. I know and have accepted the fate that my family was given because of course I dont have a choice. Its not easy but as time passes my focus goes to the things that Travis did that make/made me smile and laugh. I see him in my grandsons faces, mannerisms and their senses of humor which make me love them even more than I already do. I try to be thankful for what I still have which is a lot in spite of missing that part of me that died 11 years ago. 11 years, WOW. Hard to believe.......
