Today in Wrestling History for July 4th In 2000, AAA TripleMania VIII was held in Tokyo, Japan, making it the first major AAA event to be held outside North America – El Oriental & Esther Moreno fought Pentagon & Xochitl Hamada to a double-countout – Perro Aguayo Jr, El Alebrije & Pathfinder defeat Los Vatos Locos (El Picudo, Charly Manson & Espiritu), Team Japan (Naomichi Marufuji, Minoru Tanaka & Genki Horiguchi) & Los Vipers (Histeria, Psicosis II & Maniaco) in a Four Corners Elimination Match – Heavy Metal & Tiger Mask IV defeat Kick Boxer & Yoshinobu Kanemaru – Octagon, Jushin Liger, Latin Lover & El Alebrije defeat Cibernetico, Shiima Nobunaga, Abismo Negro & Electroshock In 2002, AAA TripleMania X was held in Madero, Mexico – Latin Lover, La Parka, El Alebrije & Gronda defeat Leatherface, Cibernetico, Abismo Negro & The Monsther – Perro Aguayo Jr, Mr Aguila & El Zorro defeat Hector Garza, El Dandy & Pirata Morgan – Los Diabolicos (Mr Condor, Angel Mortal & El Gallego) & Gran Apache defeat Los Vipers (Maniaco, Histeria, Psicosis II & Mosco de la Merced) in a Hair/Mask vs Hair Match. Maniaco was pinned, so was forced to unmask – Heavy Metal defeats Sangre Chicana, El Oriental, Electroshock, May Flowers & El Brazo in a Hair vs Hair Match where each wrestler represented a referee who put his hair on the line.
