Today is Indias 56th republic day. On this day, especially now, we need to remember that those who are left behind in a nations progress and celebration, left to their fate with hunger, daily insult, lack of housing, health and education will slow the nations progress manyfold even if the GDP figures show progress. The growing inequality, social injustice, and failure to provide a livable life by the successive governments event after 55 years of adopting a constitution that promised equal rights, justice, and right to freedom and live are ominous signs of worse days ahead. We need serious thoughts and actions for course correction not just words by politicians. On this day, here is to those of 100s of millions who have no voice, virtually no rights, and who live oppressed and in fear of people, police, unjust system, and of various forms of occults, in the words of Rabindranath Tagore..oh my unfortunate country, those you insult, one day you will be equal to them...those you are leaving behind will pull you behind. Lets hope our leaders heed to these cautions from our greatest thinker Rabindranath and make efforts to bring equality, justice, freedom, education and sustenance to all.
