Today is McHappy Day here in Australia, but before you pat - TopicsExpress

Today is McHappy Day here in Australia, but before you pat McDonalds on the back for their philanthropic works, and their genuine concern for children, a few words from former McDonalds CEO, Fred Turner.... McDonald’s first got into philanthropy “for very selfish reasons” as an inexpensive way to get “your name before the public”; the motivation “was probably ninety-nine percent commercial.” Disillusioned yet? Before donating to RMHC over any other charity who help out sick kids and their families, PLEASE take the time to read this report by Michele Simon, just released by Corporate Accountability International International (in conjunction with Eat Drink Politics and the Small Planet Fund). The findings might shock and disappoint you and like many thousands, you might decide to donate elsewhere. For the time poor, heres the executive summary: eatdrinkpolitics/wp-content/uploads/Clowning_Around_Charity_Report_Exec_Sum_web.pdf and the full 30 page report (well worth reading) here: eatdrinkpolitics/wp-content/uploads/Clowning_Around_Charity_Report_Full.pdf
