Today is a HUGE 20 year milestone for me. Two decades ago, January 7, 1995 - a Saturday, I put on my big boy pants, a new college graduate, and I moved out of my parents home and flew all across America to begin my new job hosting my first morning radio show in San Diego. I was 22 and The Beach Morning Show with Brian Whitman debuted on Monday January 9, 1995 on Gannett owned KKBH FM (102.9) Radio. Saying goodbye to my Mom and Dad was so dramatic. We stood on the front steps of our Staten Island home as I was preparing to get in the car to Newark Airport driven by my pal Joe Carlucci. I cried and thanked my Dad and Mom for all they had done for me. Tearful, we all agreed that in two weeks my Mom would be in San Diego in two weeks with me. Very emotional, I got into the car and apologized to my driver Joe. Joe, Im gonna cry all the way to the airport and I did.
