Today is a celebrated date in my household: Its my cancerversary! I was 37, just about to turn 38, in 2008 when I was diagnosed with stage 2b triple negative (this is one of the most deadly versions of BC) ductal breast cancer. It had metastasized to my lymph nodes in my right armpit. I was facing surgery, a ton of chemo and a ton of radiation. 6 years later here I am to tell the tale. I believe that I was left here due to my big mouth. I was lucky: at 37 I was not yet eligible for mammos. I had zero family history. Yet there it was. LUCKILY my lymph nodes were so grossly enlarged in my armpit that two of them were pinching a nerve so I felt pain. Moral: if you are 40, your insurance pays for your yearly mammo. GET there! Cut your mortality risk in HALF! If you have an immediate relative who has had BC you are highly likely to qualify for one starting earlier! My girls can start at 30 and it has to be paid for. BOOK IT TODAY!
