Today is my birthday, Im 36. We live in a culture that worships youth. We men shave our faces to look boyish and (some) women paint their faces to approximate the look of younger years; and yet those teen years idolized in pop culture were an awkward and ridiculous time (at least for me). They say age is just a number, but for me, its not just a number, its how old I am. And I like getting older, thank you very much. I dont want a baby face, and I dont mind a few wrinkles. Maybe Ill think differently when Im 75, but today, you couldnt pay me to be 18 again; and honestly, I wouldnt even want to go back 12 months. One of the most rewarding things about the passing of another year is to look back and see all the things in my life that have grown: my kids, my podcast, my company, my yoga studios, my team and relationships. This past year was one of the most challenging years of my life, and I feel very fortunate to have you as one of my readers.
