Today is the independence day, but we must not forget why we took independence. Muhammad Ali jinnah said in his Muslim league address on 18th June 1945: "Pakistan does not mean freedom and independence only, but the Islamic ideology as well which has to be preserved, which has come to us as a precious gift." Today our supra-libra media wants to exclude from our minds, the basis of independence i.e to have a separate homeland where Islamic principles could be established and practiced freely. They want to take away the sacred Islamic ideology from this independence day and want to portray it as just another casual independence like all those european and russian states. They want us to celebrate it like fools dancing on the tones of party songs, but they do not want us to remember who we are and why we took this country. They want us to spend this day sinning and wasting time, whereas this day should be the day when all of us get together and do an ijtimai tawba for the sins and breaking of promises we made. Maybe Allah has mercy on us and corrects our affairs.
