Today marks 11 years since Ste (Emmas dad) walked into my life. I was 17, and if someone had told me 11 years down the line, we would be married and have two beautiful children, i would have laughed in disbelief. We have had are fair share of ups and downs, and we have been tested in ways know one will ever understand. We had Emma young, i was 18 and him 21. Many people doubted us, thought we would fail. Our relationship was really put to the test, when i was 20 and he was 23, out beautiful daughter was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 2. We had to make decisions that no parent should have to, often we had different views and opinions, we dealt with things differently. and after having very very little sleep i had to put up with him 24/7. Women will agree that men are hard work :) irritating, try to be funny at all the wrong times, but we smile. Well trying to smile through gritted teeth was a challenge in its self when dealing with Ste after very little sleep day in day out hahaha. We went through one of the hardest things a parent will go through, and some times i do wonder how the hell did we make it through that. Me and Ste are complete opposites, but somehow we work. Ste is a brilliant dad, and there isnt anything he wont do for our children. When Emma was diagnosed with cancer, the hours he put into researching this cancer, was breath taking. He wanted to no everything and more, different treatments, alternative treatments, life style factors, and so much more. These last 11 years have been hard and emotional, but we also have a relationship thats strong, funny and dam right crazy, were idiots together, where like two teenagers at the best of times, always doing silly things, more so to make sure Emma and Jack smile and laugh every single day, our children come first, but not at the cost of our relationship.
