Today new VAT laws come into effect in the EU. This affects all independent designers that sell patterns into any EU countries. The big issue is that VAT tax is payable on every sale, there is no threshold for small businesses as there is with GST in most countries. As a result some designers will no longer be selling to the EU. In the least, EU customers will now pay higher prices for patterns. It seems the EU was completely ignorant of the affect these changes would have on micro businesses. Please consider signing this petition. I dont think it is ever too late for this law to be changed.
