Today proved that there can be days around the hospital that can be relaxing and stress free. I think the big help was endocrinology and cardio rounding together for Brittney Butcher and discussing the plan together allowing everyone to be on the same page! Today went well and the left hands knew what the right hands were doing. Jen and I were even able to leave the hospital together to get Brittneys test strips and lancets filled at Meijer. We also took some extra time and went to lunch. This glucose monitoring is going to take A LOT of practice. We are doing both long acting and short acting insulin. I hope we find out the dosing that works the best for her before we leave. Overall, we a very blessed for how well she is doing. Exactly 7 days ago she was lying in the operating room having her heart replaced. Tonight if you just met her, you would have no idea what she has been through! God is good!
