Today was Amarillo by Sunset. I left Killeen, passed through Lampasas, Brownwood, Coleman, Abilene, Sweetwater, Lubbock and finally Canyon near Amarillo. What a great State!!! I saw rolling prairies, cedar breaks, mesas and canyons, post oak and high plains. I would look on my left and see winds farms and right to see oil pumps working. Grazing herds of cattle, thousands of round bales of hay, cotton fields ready for harvest and others with semi-truck size bales already made were all in evidence. The combines were working the corn and the smell of distant feed lots carried across the highway while tumbleweeds blew across the roads. I traveled with Waylon, Willie, John Denver, Johnny Cash and more. What a great state and a wonderful day.
