Today was a good day. As I left work, I saw the most beautiful - TopicsExpress

Today was a good day. As I left work, I saw the most beautiful orange harvest moon sharply outlined against the deep navy blue velvet sky. It was simply magnificent! As I drove, stands of trees gave the moon a chance to play hide and seek, but I always found it because it was so big and bright. As the moon rose higher in the sky, it grew smaller and mellowed to the soft yellow of good butter. By the end of my journey, it was shrouded in the mist of the encroaching cloud cover, its edge blurred but its light undiminished. What a lovely companion for an evenings drive. Genesis 1:14-19 tells us: Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also. 17 God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. 19 There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day. As we go into a Happy New Day, let us be mindful that the God who made the great lights in the heavens also made us and that He made us for a purpose just as surely as those lights have purpose. And as the moon reflects the light of the sun, let us reflect the Light of the World to those who are living in darkness. Peace be with you.
