Today was an awsome session at d WanSolwara performance where we discused vital n thought-provoking ideas on how Pacific Island nations have gotten tangled in this web of imperalists exploitative and arrogant manipulations. Uni of Hawaii, UOG, USP fiji n DWU took turns to share amazing stories of d Pacific. For how long will we remain as the periphery and continue to get exploited to our bones, with a never-ending tag of impoverished third-world”, and get measured with their arrogant yardsticks that undermine our being and identity outright? Luckily, Westernization truimphed world-over. Despite our smallness n remoteness, will individual Pacific governments or through d Pacific Island Forum help raise this agenda of equitable distribution of global wealth, end poverty through a new n comprehensive partnership that is different from foreign aid, investment, loan, free-trade, etc. We should close d North-South gap once and for all NOW! It requires a ACT NOW approach. Otherwise, d Developed World would, by all means, continue to manuvour all systems to ensure that we remain the exploited and raped periphery when they remain d manipulative, imperalist and affluent core for many many centuries! Are we cursed!
