Today, water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink. Mr. M calls the Monkster his Helper Cat. Monkeys mantra is Im here to help whether you need it or not. From cleaning off the counters, to loading the dishwasher, to unloading groceries, Monkeys here to help by putting his paw in it. His very favorite chore though, is feeding the dogs. By himself (tossing treats to a waiting Bullet) or helping Mr. M dish up the dog food, Monks buds the dogs are one of his highest priorities. Every morning before he goes to work Mr. M feeds his pack under the helpful eye of Monkey Kitty. First he fills Bullets bowl with a mixture of hard and soft food and then he hand feeds Hunter pup his favorite can food. Yes, were taking no chances, were still spoon feeding Mr. Hunter. This morning Mr. M was not quite awake as he went about his dog feeding chore and forgot to deliver the empty dog food can to the waste basket. Not to worry, Monkey is very helpful at cleaning off the counters. Monkey examined the can and determined that if he put his teeth into it he could carry the can off the counter. What he hadnt calculated was how much it weighed. With the can squarely between his teeth the Monkster leaned over the counters edge and jumped. Mid-air the can fell. Fell into the dogs water bowl like a fat man doing a belly flop. The splash caught the attention of Bullet the Blunder Dog who scooped up the can, now full of water, and headed for his dog bed in the living room. Water splashed from the can like tsunami waves. Water to the left of him, water to the right of him, water all over the furniture. Water, water everywhere. It came to an end once the can was empty and Bullet lost interest. As I entered the disaster area, I gave Mr. M the what happened here look. He and Bullet pointed toward a docile Monkey watching from the counter licking his paws. Youre blaming this on the cat? I questioned. Who needs a wrecking crew when you have a helper cat? Mr. M answered. Helper cat indeed.
