Today we had our first ever trip to the ED with Emily. They were wonderful and took very good care of us. We didnt need to wait at all and all the nurses and doctors were wonderful with Emily. Emily was a bit brighter today but her cough has gotten worse. To the point that she struggles to breath when having a coughing fit and turns quite smurfy shade of blue (in the words of a friend). This obviously had me quite worried so off to emergency we went. After a chest X-ray, a nasal swab and a couple of hours of monitoring in which time she was laughing and dancing and only coughed twice, we were discharged to come home. Her oxygen saturations were lower than usual but within the acceptable range and her chest X-ray was clear. She is still coughing and struggling for breath and turning blue but we are just monitoring her at home and if we are worried we either head back or call an ambulance. Despite all this drama today and her feeling slightly crappy she still managed to have a laugh with her dad this afternoon before bed :)
