Todays Lesson - well this is a lesson everyday for me with a unique ginger red cat like Benjamin. Patience and Understanding!! Animals do not really do shitty things just to mess with you. Well - not always anyway! lol. Benjamin has been a cat in a million millions - probably never be another cat like him. He has pushed me to the limits so often that the temptation to open the window and drop him out has been sooo overwhelmingly strong. I am guilty of even having my hands around his wee throat at times! (you had to be here to understand that move - but his behavior is often like the old Chinese water torture to me;-)) But really - he never really deliberately did things to push my buttons - without a reason. And often that reason was to show or teach me something. He knows he is the most beautiful cat there is, and that really isnt ego either. We see it as ego - as we need to label everything - but animals do not. So as the most beautiful cat in the World, he likes to have things his own way - when he wants them. That is not him been selfish (another human label) - that is him knowing his total self worth - that is all. So you can see he has taught me a lot - even to put myself above his needs at times (and believe me that is hard when he can be heard all over the house and property when he wants you to hear him...) So sometimes just stop and see what your animal is perhaps trying to show you? what buttons are they pushing? why are you reacting like that? Patience and Understanding - are very powerful things to learn! Thanks Ben!
