Todays Prayer Line Devotional Recap (10/23/14) Scripture: 1 Kings 11 Testimony: gatewaytojesus/encouragingwritingspage1.html Thank God for helping us be transparent so we can seek what our hearts really need, Being able to take time to pray and worship on anothers behalf, and for being a light in a World of darkness Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Topic: Solomons Wives Lead Him To Idolatry Comments: -Although God gave Solomon clear instructions and wisdom admired by the ages: he still fell prey to the mystery of iniquity of sin. It is a surreal example of the importance of being hears and AND doers of the word. Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. -We can get so caught up in sin that our sin effects our decedents > THAT is why we cannot live in self for self. We tend to rationalize our sin: Job 1:21 And he said:“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; -God graced Davids blood line because he WAS a faithful servant. God appointed Solomon, however, he did not obey his comments. Therefore, God rose up adversaries against him. NO matter how wise, no matter how smart, no matter where you think you are with God.........We must continually do a self check: through wealth, health, and greatness. If we need physical check-ups annually from our earthly physicians.....why would our spirit require anything less? Questions: 1 Kings 11: 35 -Why does it state Rehoboam will receive one tribe and Rezon receive ten tribes? What about the twelve tribes? Jude and Benjamin are considered as one tribe because Benjamin was small -Why does it seem like every Great man falls into lustful desires? At times relationships can blindly cause us to idolize our partners. -If Solomon was so wise why did he not only idolize but he turned to other gods? Sin will ruin your life if you do not genuinely give it to God. When we choose to sin God allows us to believe the lie.The deceitfulness of sin causes us to actually believe in the strong delusion we have created. Even Solomons wisdom was no match when he played with sin. If you cuddle with sin it cultivates and you will get stuck on dangerous grounds. We should not allow ANY ROOM of sin. Sin spreads into the rest of our body like cancer: whether benign or malignant it Is Uncontrollable. 1 Corinthians 10:12 Therefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall. Prevailing thoughts: If we realize it is not wise to marry before you clear your debt because of the financial burden.......it is odd that we do not realize many of us marry into sin: carrying all of our tainted desires and infidelities with us.
