Todays Thought: Matthew 17:6 Hearing this, the disciples fell on their faces, filled with awe. As I read this passage this morning, I asked myself this question........How many times have I fell on my face, filled with awe, when in the presence of Jesus? What does it mean to be filled with awe? Awe is an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration, wonder, produced by that which is grand, extremely powerful, majestic, sacred......Whenever you and I come into the presence of Jesus it should be with awe. When we have our devotion time and we read His Word, we should stand in awe of Him. When we come to church it should be with the spirit of reverence, admiration, and wonder over the One who chose to come to this earth, was born in a manger, lived among the people healing and teaching, and then being willing to die on a cross so that you and I can one day be with Him in heaven.......if we give our hearts and life to Him, confessing and repenting of our sins, and daily living for Him. Each day as we look upon this beautiful earth He created for us and as we think on the many blessings He bestows on His children each and every day, it should be with awe.......wow, what a Savior! How much He loves you and me! May we, each day stand in awe of Jesus! May we, like the disciples, fall on our knees and worship Him in reverence, admiration, and wonder. My mind went to this song this morning. Read the words with a prayerful heart.....Once I was straying in sins dark valley; No hope within could I see. They searched through Heaven and found a Savior To save a poor lost soul like me. He left the Father, with all His riches, With calmness sweet and serene; Came down from Heaven and gave His life-blood To make the vilest sinner clean. Deaths chilly waters Ill soon be crossing; His hand will lead me safe oer Ill join the chorus in that great city, And sing up there forever more. O what a Savior! O hallelujah! His heart was broken on Calvary. His hands were nail-scarred; His side was riven. He gave His life-blood for even me! May this be the gift we share with our family and friends this Christmas season!
