Speaking Friday to a packed house at the First Churches in Northampton, Massachusetts, Sanders discussed economic inequality, money in politics, military spending, party politics, universal health care and the power of community organizing in a back-and-forth with Nichols. Sanders then fielded questions from the audience well into the night, The (Springfield, Mass.) Republican reported. Sanders Lays Out Agenda for Progressive Democrats: Sen. Sanders expressed his support for expanding retirement benefits and making sure everyone has access to health care and education. He pointed to a growing income disparity in the United States. He believes the most important current issue is overturning Citizens United, the Supreme Court ruling that removed limits on political spending by corporations.
