An All About ME attitude is not sustainable - in every positive relationship there is balance. It’s important to include interactions, even short ones, that provide comfort and pleasure to your horse on a regular basis, whether that be by scratching an itchy spot, hand grazing, giving a massage, or simply enjoying “undemanding time.” Spring is a perfect opportunity to get a head start on relationship building by helping meet your horse’s desire to scratch off any itchy winter hair - so go out and get your fingernails dirty!
