Tommy Sheridan was brilliant tonight and the hall was absolutely packed! I counted 150 seats but they were full and when it started there were people sitting, two abreast down the centre isle on the floor, we were all standing along the side walls, folks were sitting in front, right up to the stage and there were people listening outside the hall and in the foyer!!! He did say that his vision of Scotland would be one where workers were treated fairly, unions werent tied up with anti trade union laws and that the unions should end there relationship with the Labour party and he was applauded and cheered. Btw, I met one of the Socialist Worker paper sellers at the door and had a wee chat too, good to see a friendly face amongst the crowd. Overall, Id estimate there was upwards of 250+ in the hall and more outside! Well done Tommy and well done, the people of Wishaw for turning out in your droves, it was like Hampden Park outside, after the event, the place was buzzing!
