Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day. As someone who has suffered - TopicsExpress

Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day. As someone who has suffered from depression, and has friends and family living with this disease (dont we all?), I invite you to set and intention and make a promise to yourself today - To prioritize your own self care, foster connection and communication with others and to help reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. Connect with a friend, move your body in way that feels good, eat some extra almonds and avocados, hug your lover for 15 seconds to release some oxytocin, ask for support....Be your own best friend!! Some sobering statistics: - Depression is currently the leading cause of non-fatal disability in Australia, with less than 50% receiving medical care - Depression will be second only to heart disease as the leading medical cause of death and disability within 20 years If you feel inclined, share your promise to yourself in the comments or share this status to your own page. There is so much we can do, for ourselves and for one another. Lets be the change
