Tonight I attended the Springdale ordinance committees meeting regarding changes they are proposing to their current ordinances for potentially dangerous and vicious dogs. The discussion was lengthy, but relatively polite. Most of us who were there to ensure that dogs are not misrepresented felt that there were issues in the original ordinance that are misleading, at best. The revisions being proposed werent as swooping as I expected, but Im going to reserve my full opinion of this matter until after the next meeting, which is being held on Monday, Feb. 3, at 5pm in the Multi Purpose Room at City Hall in Springdale. I want to state that several of the city council members, to their credit, did seem to understand our concerns and, to some degree, support our insistence that the original ordinance needs some adjustments. With any luck, well be able to iron out some differences and reach some common ground in this matter. Im relieved that the city has abandoned the push for a breed ban. If you would like to come out in support of a fair and reasonable ordinance for potentially dangerous and vicious dogs in the city of Springdale, please plan to attend the meeting in Springdale!
