Tonight, our beloved Casie is running around in heaven. For a year - TopicsExpress

Tonight, our beloved Casie is running around in heaven. For a year she had a sneeze where blood would come out. In early December, we took her to Tufts for a CT. They found a large mass that was 6.4cm by 2.4cm by 2.4cm in her left nasal. It was already causing bone destruction of her hard palate. We are expecting another child in June, and in my mind I hoped she would be able to see the little one before she said goodbye. The past few months have been a small roller coaster but it seemed like she was getting better. Startling how fast something can move in and takeaway someone you love. Yesterday Casie was outside playing with Wy. She would run up and grab the stick out of his hand, and response Wy would give that famous belly laugh. They had fun, and looking back, I wish I allowed them to keep playing instead of bringing them in from the cold. Just hours after she had our son Wyatt belly laughing non-stop she started to have issues breathing. Throughout the night and through today, she could not lay down and sleep. She was trying her hardest to breathe, but was tired and continued to be more in pain. The realization started to hit me early this morning. She would stand looking at me and gave me that look. To comfort her, mom laid with her this afternoon. We all knew it was time. At Tufts, she gave one more reassurance that it was time. Laying on the floor with her in the room, she gave me licks telling me it will be OK. To all that is going through this terrible cancer with their pet, make sure you kiss and hug them every chance you can. Never let your guard down. As hard as it might be for us during the time, it is 100 times harder for the pet. God Bless You All, Casie’s Family
